Welcome to the electric vehicle conversion project website. There is a significant need for conversion of existing gasoline fueled vehicles into electric powered vehicles. The fossil fuel powered engine transportation model is not a sustainable one. Fossil fuels are a non-renewable resource. The reserves may last another 50-100 years but we cannot wait this long to stop using them for a number of reasons. Primarily, the production of atmosphere changing gasses as a byproduct of burning fossil fuels is aggravating global warming. The electric motor vehicle is a permanently sustainable model. Electricity can be generated in many clean ways; hydroelectric, solar, nuclear, steam, wind, and tidal motion, to name just a few. Purchasing a brand new electric vehicle is the field where most development is being spent, but we cannot ignore the billions of gasoline vehicles in use today. A fast and relatively inexpensive conversion of these existing vehicles from gasoline systems to electric systems will not only greatly accelerate the change away from fossil fuels, but it will also attract middle and low income commuters who cannot afford a new electric vehicle. Also these conversions will be recycling all the vehicles in use today.
